What is the IATE Student Council?
The IATE KPI Student Council is a self-governing body composed of active and initiative-driven students who strive to improve the life of the institute. This collective is involved in organizing various events, activities, and events aimed at engaging youth in active student life. The Student Council creates opportunities for self-realization, skill development, and gaining valuable experience. Students of our IPZE department are also participants in the institute’s student council and help improve student life for students of specialty 121.
Structure of the Student Council
For more effective operation, the student council is divided into four departments: Educational, Project, Media, and IT. Each department has its unique functions and responsibilities.
Educational Department The Educational Department deals with communication between students and the management of the institute to improve the educational process. It organizes events and activities aimed at solving educational issues and conducts discussions about the ethics of relationships between students and teachers.
Project Department The Project Department is responsible for organizing various events, from entertaining to intellectual. They are involved in organizing scientific, educational, career orientation, and PR events, ensuring an interesting and enriched student life.
Media Department The Media Department is the information channel of IPZE’s student life. They provide students with necessary information about events and educational processes and are responsible for the institute’s presentable appearance on the internet, including advertising and design.
IT Department The IT Department is a hub for innovations that need to be integrated into the institute’s life. It also divides into two areas: WEB – development of faculty websites, promotion of the institute on the internet, and more.
How does the Student Council help students? The Student Council assists students in various aspects of their lives. It provides support in resolving academic issues, organizes leisure activities, and fosters the development of personal and professional skills. Students have the opportunity to participate in exciting projects, develop leadership qualities, and expand their network of contacts. This invaluable experience and acquired skills will be useful not only during studies but also greatly enhance competitiveness in future careers.
Projects and Events Organized by the Student Council The IATE Student Council organizes a wide range of events and projects, including:
- Career orientation work: 17 events at the university, institute, and departmental levels. Students from all departments actively help in conducting this work.
- Scholarships: The best students receive named scholarships, such as the Kurchatov, Tolubinsky, and NAEK “Energoatom” scholarships.
- International events: Participation in international events such as the “Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2023,” attended by student Y. Maksymyuk.
- Event organization: Conducting Freshman Day in a remote format and events regarding the relocation of students to designated dormitories.
- Brandbook: Preparation and design of the institute’s brandbook.
- Website development: Continuation of work on the development of the institute’s website.
- Legal education: Discussions about harmful habits with medical and psychological professionals, talks with representatives of the student community, administration, police. Conducting work on crime prevention among students.
- Cultural events: Organizing a movie viewing in honor of Valentine’s Day and Children’s Day, conducting a lecture on “How to Create a Startup?” with Illya Sokolyuk, Deputy CEO of Monobank.
- Feedback: Launch of a feedback bot for students, where they can express complaints about the educational process, teachers, etc.
- Surveys: Conducting surveys on employment among students.
- Conferences and extra points: Assisting in organizing and conducting the institute’s conference, responsibility for collecting and submitting data for extra points for the activity of class representatives and student council members.
- Restoration of the class representative structure: Restoring the class representative structure as a framework where all class representatives can actively participate in the life of Igor Sikorsky KPI.
These initiatives create favorable conditions for the development of a wide range of skills. Students have the opportunity to improve their communication abilities, leadership qualities, teamwork skills, and critical thinking. Practical experience gained during the organization and participation in these events helps shape professional competencies that will be valuable in future careers. It is important to note that these initiatives also contribute to forming a strong student community where everyone can find support, inspiration, and opportunities for self-realization. Thus, student activities become an integral part of the educational process, ensuring the harmonious development of both academic and personal qualities.
